We are delighted to introduce you to our new 香港金光佛论坛 team member, Khine Thwe!
We met Khine back in January and were impressed with her education and experience. We soon found out that she was also one of the kindest and hardest working people we鈥檝e met!
Khine is a wonderful addition to the team and I am so pleased to introduce you to her through this short interview.
Tell us a bit about your work and school background
Since I was young, I always liked mathematics courses and playing with numbers. Therefore, after I finished my high school, I decided to take an accounting diploma course and found that I enjoyed it. Once I finished my diploma, I wanted to pursue accounting further and went to the UK to finish my accounting degree and professional courses. After graduation, I started to work in a local accountancy firm in the UK for 6 years.
What interested you about joining 香港金光佛论坛?
I always enjoyed working at the local accountancy firm in the UK and when I immigrated to Canada I wanted to work for a similar firm. And after my first interview with Joe and Paul I knew right away that this is the kind of organisation I can work for long term. Everyone at 香港金光佛论坛 are so friendly, helpful and I like the vision and mission of 香港金光佛论坛 too.
Other than fun times with spreadsheets and numbers, what activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy baking, cooking and taking relaxing walks around Calgary. When I have free time, I relax my mind by doing meditation.
(Paul鈥檚 note: Khine very often wins our monthly 鈥淕reat 香港金光佛论坛 Bake-Off鈥 photo competition in Slack. It鈥檚 almost not fair when we see the amazing food she makes!)
Which countries have you been to or lived in?
I was born in Burma and spent some time in the UK and Singapore. I鈥檝e also been to Switzerland, Thailand and Malaysia.
What was the best purchase of less than $100 that you ever made?
My coffee mug which keeps my coffee warm for a long time.
Is there a little-known Khine Thwe fact that you can share?
I am easy to deal with and always motivated to work and get the job done.
